Just as Sophie Mercer has come to accept her extraordinary magical powers as a demon, the Prodigium Council strips them away. Now Sophie is defenseless, alone, and at the mercy of her sworn enemies—the Brannicks, a family of warrior women who hunt down the Prodigium. Or at least that’s what Sophie thinks, until she makes a surprising discovery. The Brannicks know an epic war is coming, and they believe Sophie is the only one powerful enough to stop the world from ending. But without her magic, Sophie isn’t as confident.
Sophie’s bound for one hell of a ride—can she get her powers back before it’s too late?

Firstly, I thought that this book was a good finish the an amazing series. All of the characters were written wonderfully, even the villains I kind of liked. I think my favorite character development here would either be Cal or Archer but they were all great.
So this book takes place weeks after the ending of Demonglass when Sophie is trying to find her mother. Sophie powers have been locked away by the Cansoff's and to get them back she must find a spell at Hex Hall. Although, the island is hidden from everyone until one day every student is called back to play a role in the on coming war. Sophie's power is the only thing powerful enough to stop this demon war from happening but she is not able to believe everything falls on her.
I actually think this was my favorite of all the books and I gave it a 4.5 stars on Goodreads. Here I think I will give it my top owl because it was just that good.
My little blue owl, if you didn't know, means that this book was the best of the best, so I totally recommend this book to everyone.

Spoilers
There were moments in this book that killed me, like even Sophie told her mom she was going to become a nun, which is one of the reasons that I loved it. There are also a bunch of moments from Archer that I loved to pieces. (Some of which will be in the quotes)
Another reason that I loved it was because of the fact that someone died.
Yes, I know. What is wrong with you? and all that jazz, but hear me out.
For me, I feel like to end a series, when you know it's going to end with those characters for good, there should be at least one death--that isn't the villain, of course. Even if the person comes back after, I still feel someone from the good side needs to die. That is what happened in this book. At the end Cal gives himself up to save Sophie and I thought this was just amazing even though I cried forever when I read about seeing his ghost because I couldn't take it. Most of you probably aren't with me on Cal's death but I feel that it was necessary and I could tell him or Archer were going to die.
